The prestigious record label Realworld, owned by the British Peter Gabriel, has opened a remix competition of Cura, a well-known song by the Colombian artist Totó la momposina. The explanation given by the organizers to justify the contest is the growing popularity of this artist's work in the world of dance music and hip hop, thanks to the remixes that prestigious producers such as Michel Cleis and Timbaland have made of her songs.
Apart from that, on June 29 Totó la Momposina will present her new album Drummer, which, among other things, will include a new version of Cura.
