For fans of Spanish rock and attendees of the latest version of Rock al Parque, a night "not to be forgotten" and "a violent love" for their ears had been planned. It was quite a surprise to see the name Los Tres on the poster., Representative band of Chilean and Latin American rock together with one of the most beloved by the public, Robi Draco Rosa.
After 20 years without visiting Colombia, the Chilean quartet led by Álvaro Henríquez, He gave a show commemorating two decades since the release of his album Lame as well as a brief overview of their repertoire featuring the most important songs from their three decades in the music industry. Henríquez and Roberto “Titae” Lindl, founding members of the band, were accompanied by Boris Ramírez (drums) and Sebastián Cabib (guitar)., who have been part of the group for some years. On stage they displayed their varied sound that ranges from rockabilly and jazz to their undeniable fusion with traditional Chilean music., which ultimately define its characteristic sound.
Songs like Jump o Let yourself fall perhaps the best known and most listened to on the radio in our country in the 90s, They were chanted by the audience, even by those not so familiar with his work. Other pieces such as The Tower of Babel y The rock and the hard place They got people dancing to the rockabilly rhythm and into the heat of the party, which was slowly drawing to a close. After an hour-long concert, Henríquez said goodbye, leaving his fans with a glimmer of hope, saying See you soon, thus giving way to the last show of the festival.
The closing act would be handled by the Puerto Rican., who would commemorate the 21st anniversary of the launch of the legendary Tramp, The work was produced by the Colombian-British Phil Manzanera and featured the participation of Colombian Chucho Merchán on bass. Lovers until the end. This would be Draco's third time playing at Rock al Parque. The first time was in 1998, where he played songs from the same album. Around that time, Draco was suffering from the crisis caused by the rejection and criticism of his new job. which, according to the media, had no place in the rock scene of the time. However, the reception his songs received at that show encouraged him to believe he was on the right track. The second time was in 2004, closing the 10th edition of the festival, with one of the highest attendances ever recorded., and with a more secure and comfortable Draco on the platform. In their third performance, Robi and his band replicate from beginning to end what for many is an emblematic and cult album of Spanish-language rock, filling the Simón Bolívar with a magical atmosphere. The diverse atmospheres evoked by these musical pieces revived the ritual of surrendering to the appreciation of those poignant and poetic lyrics embodied in their music. The connection with the audience was special and imbued with immense humility. He apologized for the difficult moment he was experiencing during his first performance at the festival and expressed his deep affection for Colombia and its people, feeling right at home. It was undoubtedly a memorable night and a great culmination of the twenty-third edition of Rock al Parque.
