John Jairo Rodríguez: guitarist

3. What does the band sound like?

We are a rock band that falls within the progressive genre. We have different types of passages: melodic and emotional, powerful and forceful, and harmonic and complex.

4. Year of birth of the group.

2010

5. Which do you remember as the best presentation in your history?

Within the district festival circuit, we fondly remember our participation in the Puente Aranda Rock/Metal Festival. Of course, we hope that Rock al Parque will soon take the top spot.

6. A significant phrase from one of his songs.

This machine enslaved our souls.

Heresy is to be yourself in this world.

7. What are you expecting from your performance at Rock al Parque?

We hope to delight our fans with a show worthy of our band and on par with such an important festival. Furthermore, we want to make a visual and musical impact on new rock fans. Of course, it's important for the band that those who can share this music with more rockers in other parts of the country and the world feel the necessary confidence and desire to support The Brainwash Machine.

8. Which concerts do you want to see during the festival?

We definitely want to join all our local friends, including Loathsome Faith, Implosion Brain, Syracusae, Durazno, Alfonso Espriella, and others, as well as international bands like Dark Tranquility and Dark Funeral. We will, without a doubt, be there to support Masacre at their 30th anniversary show.

9. What does Bogotá mean to you?

It is a beautiful city, guarded by mountains found only here and governed by locals who seek only their own benefit. Despite being a metropolis belonging to everyone and no one, it has given us the necessary tools to develop ourselves emotionally, psychologically, economically, and intellectually. We work to give back what we have received from it through our art, our professions, and our artistic and economic activities.

10. What are your 5 favorite songs from the musical repertoire made in Latin America?

It's a really tricky question because of the limited space available to mention the most representative songs from countless possibilities. However, our 5 all-time favorite songs are:

Dead Embryonic Cells – Grave

Fragile in the wind – Kraken

Fear – Caifanes

Brutal massacres – Massacre

The temple of hate – Angra
