After four years of silence, after all this time since releasing his EP Powerful, the Chilean band Lucybell announces a new album for June 2017, under the name of Magnetic. The group, led by Claudio Valenzuela, has been gradually releasing songs from this album, building anticipation among the audience. still attentive to this exquisite proposal with more than two decades of history.

Before their performance at the 2017 edition of Lollapalooza Chile, Lucybell has decided to premiere For love, the third single from his new production and the truth is that it continues to surprise as yet This trio has enough merit to be considered part of the current Chilean music scene. His instrumental sounds remain captivatingly contemporary, and Valenzuela's voice continues to be fresh and seductive. He, like few other singers, can deliver lyrics that are believable without sounding corny or out of place. For some mysterious reason, perhaps because of his whispered intonation, his vocal inflections, and his high notes, What Valenzuela does is believable and resonates with the listener. Few can speak of love without their words sounding overly saccharine. He, after all this time, still manages to do so, because he knows how to use his drama powerfully, without overwhelming us, without exaggerating, without unnecessary posturing. This observation may sound disproportionate, but we risk making it nonetheless: Valenzuela at times sounds like Sandro, reminding us of his emotion, the energy of his voice.

We can guess that Magnetic It will be a good album. The promotional precedents lead us to believe that. Perhaps for listeners of newer generations it might sound too mature for their contemporary tastes, but even so, It is undeniable that Lucybell's defense of the essence of good pop will resonate with their former fans and others who join the great musical circle created by the band.

Lucybell has managed to endure, and that is definitely..., reason to celebrate.
