The Indie-O Music Awards 2016 ceremony (better known as The Imas), awards to the highlights of Mexican independent music. These awards are given in various categories., reflecting the multiplicity of sounds explored in the Mexican republic, where one explores the paths of rock, pop, electronica, jazz, hip hop, new folk, and experimental expressions from emerging genres. The selection of winners demonstrated the high quality of the new proposals being developed in that country and the interesting sonic exploration that, due to a lack of more widespread promotion, It is not well known in the rest of Latin America.
