Editor's Note from Zonagirante.com: Bogotá lights up with art, music, and community gatherings. The Secretariat of Culture, Recreation, and Sports presents a special program of Christmas activities that transform the city into a vibrant stage: concerts, shows, tours, workshops, and celebrations designed for community enjoyment.
At Zonagirante.com, we celebrate these initiatives that reaffirm our cultural identity and our unique way of inhabiting public space. We invite everyone to go out, discover, and participate. This is a season to feel part of Bogotá, through creativity and culture.
The city is preparing for an unforgettable season with Christmas is Culture 2025, which from December 5th to 23rd will bring more than 600 free activities and the participation of 4,000 local artists.
For 18 days, art, music, and Bogota's diversity will take over streets, parks, and squares in a celebration open to families, visitors, and culture lovers.
The starting point will be the Grand Ignition in El Tunal Metropolitan Park, where a 56-meter tree, illuminated paths and artists such as Orquesta Alquimia and Los Cumbia Stars will mark the beginning of the season.
From that day forward, the city will be transformed with concerts, shows and tours that celebrate local creativity.
He Day of the Little Candles, Bogotá will experience a vibrant afternoon and evening with the traditional Parade of Carnival Groups on Carrera Séptima, followed by simultaneous programming in different parts of the city: “Electrovelitas” in Parque de los Hippies and a special concert by the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra in El Tunal.
The program also includes three great immersive shows, free international productions that combine technology, performing arts and music:
• “An imagined city” In Plaza de Bolívar, a sensory journey that projects possible futures for Bogotá.
• “Beyond the Clouds” In La Santamaría, a poetic tale starring a girl and a flying cat that travels through the neighborhoods.
• “One rhythm, many voices” In El Tunal, a performance that connects the different Christmas traditions of the country in a musical journey full of color.
With this program, Bogotá transforms its December into an open stage where light, imagination and local talent intertwine so that every neighborhood, every square and every audience become part of the same cultural celebration.
All programming is free and of free admission until full capacity is reached.
