The Secretariat of Culture, Recreation, and Sports presents a special program of Christmas activities that transform the city into a vibrant stage: concerts, shows, tours, workshops, and celebrations designed for community enjoyment. This is a season to feel part of Bogotá, through creativity and culture.
From December 5 to 23, Bogotá once again transforms its streets, squares, and parks into open-air stages for the second edition of Christmas is Culture. They will be 670 free activities, designed for all ages, which will bring together more than 4,300 artists from different sectors of the capital.
The celebration, promoted by the Secretariat of Culture, Recreation and Sport, poses a clear invitation: imagine the Bogotá we want to live in, and express it collectively through art, creativity, and community play.
Lights and music turned on in El Tunal
The agenda begins on December 5th in El Tunal Metropolitan Park with the Grand Lighting Switch On, A visual spectacle combining a kilometer of illuminated pathways and a 56-meter tree with a laser show. From 4:30 pm there will be concerts featuring Grammy-nominated artists such as Alchemy Orchestra y The Cumbia Stars, In addition to local and national artists, the countdown marking the official start of the season will take place there.
Candle Day takes over Seventh
He December 7, Candle Day, more than 1,000 artists They will travel along Carrera Séptima in the traditional Parade of Carnival Groups, From La Santamaría to Plaza de Bolívar. The closing ceremony will feature a performance by Children's Philharmonic Choir y The Royal Charanga, in a celebration that blends tradition and modernity.
That same day, from 4 pm, the Hippie Park will receive Electric candles, A sound and visual experience produced by Idartes with artists who blend electronic music, traditional rhythms, and immersive visuals. And at 7 pm, in El Tunal, the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra will offer an open concert.
Lighting for exploring the city
Thanks to the support of Enel Colombia and the Bogotá Energy Group, the Christmas lights will extend for more than 30 sectors with nativity scenes, lasers, giant figures, and sleighs. This year, the installation consumes 381,000 metric tons less energy than in 2007, reinforcing the public commitment to sustainability.
Three world-class immersive shows
As in 2024, Bogotá will receive three free stage and technology productions:
“An imagined city” — Bolívar Square

A sensory journey with more than 50 artists, special effects and projection technology to dream up possible futures.
“Beyond the Clouds” — La Santamaría Cultural Plaza

80 artists narrate a girl's journey through Bogotá on a flying cat, with music, acrobatics and visual poetry.
“One rhythm, many voices” — El Tunal Metropolitan Park

A musical journey that unites diverse regions of Colombia and shows how Christmas is experienced from different territories.
All programming is free and of free admission until full capacity is reached.
