Every day, new digital companies make tools for various uses available to members of the music industry. to better develop their businesses and communication with other members of the international scene. Ivan Muñoz, Chilean musician, leader of the electronic project Vigilant, and a resident of Rennes, France for some time, is part of the company that created an application called Bandtiger, a free download, which, according to its creator, can help artists to learn more fully where to perform around the world.

What is Bandtiger about?

It's a free app for iPhone and Android that allows musicians to find, rate, and share bars, concert halls, and festivals around the world.

Is the app only for musicians?

For now, it's primarily aimed at musicians. But anyone (even if they're not a musician) can create an account.

Explain to me how the application works

Basically, the app lets you use geolocation to find venues, bars, and festivals near you where you could potentially play. It also has a search function that allows you to expand your search worldwide. In addition, you can filter your search by music style and venue type, and leave comments after your performance to advise or warn other musicians about the place.

Can scenarios in Latin America already be classified?

Of course. We already have several in our database and we're adding more every day.

Let me understand something: What changes from the moment I, a potential user, rate the bar or concert venue in one way or another?

That depends on many factors

That is to say?

If it only has one bad rating or one negative review, I don't think it will change anything, but if it has a lot of them, it's clear that many bands won't like the idea of playing there. Similarly, if it has many positive reviews, bands will fight to play there.

And what other advantages does the application have?

Well, the main advantage is free access to our database, since most services that offer information like that are paid.

So how does Bandtiger hold up?

For the moment, like many others startups. We have no income. We decided to make the 100% app free because it's an app made by musicians for musicians, and we felt it was essential that a tool like this be available on the market.
