Twenty years ago, many began to worship the new god of the compact disc, with all its digital innovations, and abandoned their collections of LPs, long-playing vinyl records. And now, amidst the profound decline of the music market, some artists are reviving the old format to attract true music lovers back to their new releases. Vinyl never stopped being produced, but many scorned it and now don't know what to do with their CD players. With the vinyl revival, stores that almost exclusively sell these types of albums have also reappeared to satisfy the desires of collectors. In Bogotá, La Roma Records, originally a Mexican company, recently opened a branch and has begun to change the musical landscape of the Colombian capital. On our "Rebel Music Session," we've invited César Sánchez, one of the main partners of this project, to talk about the vinyl phenomenon and what we can expect from it. During this program, we'll play songs from one of their pressings as an independent label, seamlessly transitioning from garage rock to great electronic music.
