Of course, more than one human being may accuse me of writing this article under the spell of every photo this artist from western Colombia posts on social media. The impact of her beauty and the charm that surrounds her is evident. I say this on a personal level, without implicating anyone else: The sensuality this woman exudes overwhelms me. But no, that's not the reason for the interview. No. Sea Dune, who has been performing on stage for several years now, and with radio hits such as Kiss your little mouth, The song he made with Cabas in 2013 crossed the one million play mark on digital platforms, has made interesting qualitative leaps in its music in recent days. She, who could have repeated the formula of other colleagues in the scene, has embarked some time ago on a personal journey where He has sought to achieve his own style, one that avoids repetition and obviousness., And, truthfully, she's succeeding. What we hear in her recent recordings is a mixture of local tropical traditional flavors, hip hop, reggae, soul, and R&B, where her voice fits perfectly, always ready to seduce the audience, making them feel that vocal warmth that slows down dance movements and exposes the search for pleasure in each of us. His last two songs, Tear away my desire y To truly love you, They have the word "spell" in their subtitles. It is true, the artist has been finding her magic and that obliges us to pay attention to her present and future, because possibly (and we hope so) the evolution of tropical sound corresponds to her and other girls of her generation.
How would you describe your current sound?
My music brings together diverse colors and flavors… to shorten that sonic amalgam, I say: Bohemian urban pop.But it's important to express that it's still constantly evolving, that each day in the studio is a different laboratory, and it gives me great pleasure to experiment with different things, to go without plans and let my instinct guide me.
You're developing your own sound, aren't you?
I feel like I'm increasingly connected to what I do… I want to listen to myself and share it. I've refined many things along the way, becoming more and more established as a woman, artist, and producer. That has definitely given power, magic, clarity, and identity to my message and sound.
Which artists do you currently identify with?
I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I've been talking for a while about how it's possible to be different, unique, disruptive, and mainstream all at the same time, but until very recently, it was like a fantasy! And it's beautiful to see such special people now setting trends and doing amazing things like Rosalía, Jorja Smith, Yendri, Vicente García, Nathy Peluso, Xavier Omar, Kali Uchis, C. Tangana, Rels B, Crudo means raw…
Hey, are you putting together an album using only spells?
An EP. It will be called Sorceress. Each song is a spell.
What does the word "conjuring" evoke in you?
A spell is a magic formula, something that has the power to influence people's reality. That's what I feel songs are! They make you travel through time, they transform, they enrage, they heal, they make you fall in love, they unite—what could be more magical than that? When I make music, I feel like that, like a sorceress, an alchemist of emotions, a spellcaster!
