garabatoBy José Gandue @Gandour

Harsh, exasperating, messy, noisy, charming. That's what it sounds like Ep # 1, the first album by the Peruvian band Scribble. The unabashed, uncompromising garage rock scream, respecting the rawness, the sonic discontent, and the inherent aggression of the genre, without losing for a second the magic or the catchy, easy-to-digest melody. To paraphrase Woody Allen, Punk, like sex, is only dirty if it's done right.

It only takes 17 minutes to know that this quartet based in Lima may hold a piece of the future of good Peruvian rock. Hopefully, that won't be too much of a burden for them and other groups of the new generations in their country. At least they have taken an important first step, worthy of being heard by curious musicologists from all over the continent.
