This duo from Rosario uses a variety of names in their artistic activities. On their discography (at least on Bandcamp) they appear as CkCk, But actually, his full name (and it shows on Spotify) is Colonikocolokio. As individuals, their identity documents record that they are Eduardo Bonfatti and Nicolás Cassale but they prefer to be named Eh Bo and Kolia, respectively. Everyone has their own ways. Anyway, we adapt to all of it, since their new album, Tablada Hollywood, deserves our attention.

CkCk's journey began in 2010, and after a decade of various activities, including the release of his previous albums, That's heaven and this is your place (2013) and Bazaar (2016), her performance at the Kirchner Cultural Centre in 2015, and the release of his single Bare Wires within the compilation Isla Edits from the collaborative platform Fértil Discos. But after 10 years, they decided to release two albums in 2020, one still awaiting release on digital platforms, called Little Hidden Musics, which they themselves describe (in advance) as a collection of songs made with entirely acoustic instrumentation, with an intimate sound. We hope to hear it soon., But for now, let's enjoy their newly released 5-song EP.

This material, which lasts thirty minutes, throughout its playback, it contains a placid electronic mixture, where, depending on the moment, moments close to classic House music are combined with a touch of jazz, And in the most exotic and daring moments, cumbia sounds, keyboards that seem to have been taken from popular parties and subtly filtered to blend into the serenity that permeates the entire recording. In some parts, everything looks like Bob Sinclair's serene encounter with a peaceful follower of Pablo Lescano, leader of Damas Gratis. But be careful, we insist on this point: This is a fusion approached with elegance, not euphoria. It's music made to get the party started, not for the climax of the celebration. Tablada Hollywood It always has a heartwarming atmosphere, like the soundtrack to a confirmation of love on a rainy day or that gentle smile that promises us the best of nights.

Here are five patient construction cuts, that seek to inoculate in each listener the quiet poison that is generated in the process of mixing between the local, the neighborhood, and the sonic dawns that arrive from other continents. Tablada Hollywood, If we may recommend a good way to listen to and enjoy it, it should be savored with a spirit, the first bites of a hearty barbecue, and good company. May good fortune accompany you as you listen, during which you shouldn't worry about what to call these musicians from the Argentine countryside. Just enjoy and don't overthink it.
