We're sneaking back into the corners of Bandcamp, our favorite music platform, to find gems from the splendid Latin American underground, And this time, we'll be reviewing three short-lived releases that could have a significant impact on those constantly seeking to update their collections of great and surprising contemporary music. Perhaps, one day, they'll be able to boast about being the first in their circle to have heard these memorable tracks. (and the audition is free and open to the public).

Friends: We need to pay attention to what is happening in the city of Medellín., especially to what's happening in their garages and home studios. Colombia's second most populous city is being commercially recognized as one of the world's reggaeton capitals, but, outside the spotlight of the big names, There are a lot of artists who are researching and achieving their own sounds, more so through the wide world of electronic music and genre fusion labs.  Behind this interesting compilation of 4 tracks is the ingenuity of Juan Esteban Herrera, who, throughout this EP, carries out an elegant exploration and combination of rhythms and resonances from Jamaica and the folklore of its borders, in an experimental combination. where he combines elements of dub, reggae, ska, and steppa, with percussive moments featuring patterns from cumbia and nyabinghy. Alongside Juan Esteban, trumpeter Yoni Perez, drummer Camilo Mazo, and percussionist Álvaro Botero also participated in the project. This is material ready to ignite the dance floor and deliver powerful, ground-shaking bass that could easily be heard in the heart of Antioquia, in London, or even in Kingston itself. A gem that, for maximum enjoyment, should be played on your headphones.

For the next two hundred and nine seconds, perhaps—and we hope we're not exaggerating—you'll be able to hear the soundtrack music you've been needing. These two sound pieces come from San José, Costa Rica., But their inspiration comes from beyond the western shores of the Pacific, crossing on a long journey to the Japanese archipelago. According to Ed Pérez, who is in charge of this project, this album «"It is an evocative odyssey, uniting the ethereal realms of gods and mortals, ocean and land, and forging an enigmatic connection with the deep essence of the Japanese sea gods, Suijin and Ryujin.". There isn't a film yet to feature these compositions, but they clearly evoke fantastic mental images. Highly recommended for fans of good instrumental synthwave. and those who desire beautiful calm, at least for a few minutes.

This is, without a doubt, the shortest album we have ever reviewed on Zonagirante.com (And look, it's been 24 years since we went online). It lasts only eighty-four seconds and is divided into two moments: Seal Remix y Thrush Sauce. But don't think that, due to its length, the material is insufficient. Imagine a couple of sonic pills with immediate effect, which, once they pass through your eardrums, happily explode in your brain due to their high psychedelic content. and its intense mix of electronica, cumbia, folk, and natural sounds, processed to the limit. This is medicine to understand that life, even in these horrible times, should be taken less seriously than the doomsayers suggest.
