Malaysia Airlines passengersStories, chronicles and neighborhoods

A Uruguayan band that we really appreciate is back on our page., for its freshness, its good humor and the brilliant development of its sound throughout these years. His is a fun and elaborate mix of ska, reggae, punk, rocksteady and other tasty herbs transported from the shores of Jamaica to the edges of the South Atlantic. This is a collection of 10 songs ready for celebration, with lyrics ranging from festive to politically conscious, so necessary these days. In the technical details, We must emphasize the clean blend of all the instruments, which enhances the quality of the musicians in the group., And that, surely, the audience will appreciate. It's time to turn our attention back to what's happening in Montevideo and its surroundings, and be grateful that there are more relevant musical projects, beyond Cuarteto de Nos, NTVG, and La Vela Puerca. Play it, activate it, resist it!

AlmanacsThe gentle afternoons

And now comes a great band. One of those that, amidst the delicate blenders that detach from their guitars, They bring an innocent smile to our faces and transport us, our gaze lost on the horizon. From Buenos Aires, we bring you Almanacs, a group that makes perfect songs for rainy afternoons, On the one hand, they remind us of the smooth melodies of Californian bands from the sixties, and on the other, they display the elegance of British ballads from the nineties. This quartet has grasped something fundamental in this type of music: No matter the background noise, no matter its power or corrosive intentions, tenderness always remains in their essence.  The idea is to let ourselves be enveloped by the distortion and the contrast created by the gallantry of their reverberated voices. This is a beautiful album, a gem that cannot remain hidden for long. Because the world deserves to enjoy this compilation of 9 tracks to alleviate the prevailing pessimism:

armored, sedated
We raise a glass to you and your luck

I've never felt as good as when I'm here
(and it's so hard for me),

Birds of Sweden Flies

We are convinced that Mauricio Colmenares is one of the best composers that Bogota rock has today. He has already demonstrated this many times with projects like Poper and Silver Revolver. And at this point, those of us who know him and value the quality of his work, We keep wondering why it hasn't reached more prominent places, brighter stages. Something must be wrong with the world, the music scene, or his own environment (we're not going to try to figure it out right now, that's not the point). Anyway, we're back to talking about this musician because he's introducing his new band, Pájaros de Suecia (Birds of Sweden)., And here's the first preview of what will be a future album. Here, as always, Colmenares resorts to what he knows how to do, that is, to make full use of her seductive voice and her excellent guitar skills, Very rock, very bluesy, combining moments of the sound of the North American West of the seventies and the grunge of the nineties, with psychedelic touches that add contemporary aromas, for a result that awakens curiosity about what is to come. Good job.
