While Chilean artist Derrok prepares his album The Footprint, And after an intense tour of Europe, he's given us a sneak peek with two recordings to whet our appetites. His style is rooted in a unique blend of progressive and deep house, incorporating sounds native to the Andean region, and mixing acoustic instrumentation (charango, guitars, and local percussion) with digital sound programming., thus creating a sober, exciting and profoundly elegant atmosphere. Perfect music to start the night and fill it with wise positive energy and cultural exquisiteness.

It would be overly simplistic, and perhaps even offensive, to say that the difference between old-school punk and what's been called "pop punk" for the last few years is that one group doesn't care much about vocal pitch and the other does. What this Mexican band is doing is aimed more at getting airplay on commercial radio than at inciting people to build anti-establishment barricades in the streets of their neighborhoods. Anyway, setting aside the prejudices of the more radical sector, What Pet Friendly proposes in their first EP is fun, agile and well done. It retains a rebellious quality to excite new generations and convinces through the well-constructed nature of its songs.
