Lascivious Dopamine & Bohemian Lust – Lullaby of the Pacific
From Quito, Ecuador, comes a little gem of three tracks that demonstrate there's still much to be done in blending indigenous sounds with contemporary electronic music. This work, with its intense spirit and jungle-like colors, is a testament to that. It is a good archetype of how techno can be interpreted in the middle of the world and the richness of nuances it can display when it acquires aboriginal tones. A sensitive work ready to be celebrated, danced to and listened to with the attention that risky and pleasurable productions deserve.
The Kitsch – The Kitsch of Colombia present 1/3
Of the new generation of Bogota's indie scene, among which there are good intentions but not much talent (to tell the truth), perhaps one of the standout examples, and one that showcases some of the best music, is The Kitsch. This trio, with their surf rock sound, psychedelic joy, and punk attitude, It features a four-song EP full of great screams over finely distorted guitars, striking vocal variations, and lots of fun. This new work contains tasty rebellion and good humor, elements that are immediately appreciated and that make us understand at once why his songs are played in international alternative scenes.
Mr. Pig – Cumbia & Dub
It seems the scent of Trenchtown has permeated the air near the hills of Santiago, Chile. Everything looks as if the Caribbean Sea has conquered the Pacific Ocean, and Francisco David, aka. Mr. Chancho, be in charge of making the anthems of the new republic, bringing dub, reggae and cumbia to enrich the auditory perfume of the Southern Cone. This album, composed of 4 recordings that in total barely exceed 15 minutes, is made with eclectic substance and free atmosphere, and manages to be enjoyable, perfect to be played at the best parties.
