Dear passengers, please follow these recommendations before this journey begins. First, choose the best armchair in your house and dress as comfortably as possible. If they remain confined to their homes due to the pandemic, they will already know the best space available to them to isolate themselves from their loved ones and the rest of humanity, and thus, alone, Prepare to enjoy a collection of very unique, experimental, confusing and exciting musical pieces. Next, as is almost always said on these occasions, put on your headphones and smile. Prepare yourselves for a very special journey where you will encounter landscapes of different hues., where ancestral textures are combined with modern digital amusements, Voices of vanished leaders and recently composed poems. There are moments in this album, Fearless, from the Colombian Gregorio Merchán, which, if we were to turn them into a still image, would surely look for a few seconds The shadows of the stiff members of Kraftwerk posing in front of the green of the Andes in the middle of a psychedelic trance. We will then find other moments emerging from the antipodes and displayed as a snapshot of downtown Bogotá, almost childlike, full of cotton candy, which, despite the candor of the portrait, contains hidden poison that makes passersby pale. What you are about to hear is homemade electronic music, Nourished by textures from other genres (here you can find the most bizarre aspects of progressive rock, a rebellious tango, or the resonances of Buddhist temples) and crafted with the spirit of someone who, after playing in numerous locally and internationally renowned bands (Aterciopelados, Morfonia, Mil Marías, 1280 Almas), has decided, now past his forties, to give themselves the pleasure of making their own record with the freedom that there is no loss or failure in their story, because it has been made with the intention of playing at being free and without obligations except to oneself.
We warned you: This is a rare record. Strange in the sense that you might not have a clear map of where everything you're about to hear will lead. Strange because the artist presenting it doesn't make it easy for you at any point. This is a journey in which, if all goes well, you'll get lost several times and show your confusion with each track.. Fear not, it's time to break the routine, it's time to listen to this album to live a very particular adventure. Welcome to a new world created by a musician who has had fun breaking the mold during quarantine.
