How to define the music of this strangely named band formed in Uruguay in 2020? No, it's not about resorting to forced labels or somewhat obvious examples to get by. I find it easier to describe While the sleepers creak with slightly more personal feelings, with what I imagine every time I listen to these five splendid songs lo-fi nostalgia, This set of tunes that seem to have been composed in the autumn of the Río de la Plata region. And that, if they are scattered by the wind, they can be sweet auditory poison, ready to soothe accumulated rage.
This first album by this quartet lasts half an hour. made up of Diego Segovia, Álvaro Unger, Felipe Rebellato and Ángel Cardozo, who, with the timely collaboration of Irene Tolosa y Romina Peluffo, They built this EP that might sound like independent rock of recent decades but, importantly, with its own meaning. These recordings clearly emerged from rehearsals, from trial and error in the garage, from intimate collaborative sessions, produced without haste or pressure, rather with a relaxed approach and the conviction that everything was going well. Clearly, it's a thorough job, made more to allow friends to celebrate the final product and, from there, without any tension., to tackle the rest of the planet in order to conquer it.
It's a thirty-minute reminder, in case anyone has forgotten, of how to make music without thinking about awards, about crowds cheering from the first second in packed stadiums with all the pyrotechnics at their disposal. 5 tracks (among which my favorite moment is The Whale Route, a jewel that leaves a lasting impression) which, perhaps, is only a suspicion, It will make some listeners think that all this effort is made for each of them because he has found a simple way to honestly move them. I hope so.
