If the author of this note were a carefree millionaire, with no creditors chasing him, he would gladly pay the six hundred and sixty-six dollars that the Argentinian band is asking for on Bandcamp. The Boys of the Sect for his album Rock and roll was invented by the CIA. I swear to you.

The Cult Boys are a quintet of likeable arsonists, funny apprentice online scammers,  who make fun music with lyrics that involve conspiracy theories ("Rock and Roll was invented by the CIA/To win the Cold War/That's why I make pop"«), unexpected egocentric fascinations («"It's not my fault your girlfriend thinks about me/It's not my fault I'm the leader, I didn't ask for it/They love me for being real, it's not my job to tell the truth/It's to make them dance"») , and brazen confessions about artistic abilities («"I bought a guitar without knowing how to play/ within a few months I was the king of the local underground/ I opened a studio with my dad's and now I make noise/ to satisfy my mental loneliness"»). Just by saying these things, They deserve to be paid the devil's money in American currency and then some.

This production, directed by Santiago De Simone and the band themselves, is ready to blow everyone's minds, with a formula that has worked yesterday, today and always: Simple, straightforward, well-made and fun rock 'n' roll. With sharp guitars inspired by the old guard, yet still feeling relevant to our times, this album thrills from beginning to end. From the very first shout, El Capitan Mandioca captivates with his voice and dispels any notion that the rhythm contained here, however many times we may have heard it in other artists, is boring or pointless. The Boys of the Sect learned their lesson well and express it with total freshness in 4 songs, less than 12 minutes, to the delight of those seeking the wholesome fun on this side of hell.

$666 for this album? Some rich anarchist will surely get the joke and pay it., And we, those grateful for these recordings, will congratulate him.
