Sometimes we ask for nothing more in life. For a few moments. We just want to hear a group with a simple arrangement, ...that distills its fine rage simply by turning on the amplifier, pressing the precise distortion pedal, singing with enough abandon, and shaking the garage by banging the drums with enough force to make the floor tremble. In life, we have moments from time to time when We only ask that the band makes us think that rock 'n' roll is just that, the magical noise of a duo., Just guitar, vocals, and drums, effortlessly devouring all the boredom in the world, with solid songs that seem to have been crafted in seconds of inspiration. That's what it sounds like. Dreaminder, the second album by the Chileans Magaly Fields, a project formed by Tomás Stewart (vocals and guitar) and Diego Cifuentes (vocals and drums), who have released this new work under the classic independent Santiago-based company Algorecords in conjunction with the Brazilian label Forever Vacations.
However, it must be noted: To say that Dreaminder It has a raw sound; it makes you believe that the result of this recording is pure, unadulterated fury. And what we actually find is a collection of exciting songs that make up a delightful journey through soaring sonic mountains. Herein lies the value of the melodies of songs like Chasing UFOs o Fever, among other things, contrasts perfectly with the exquisite exasperation of Skull Tunnel o Killer Shade. When we talk about effective simplicity, we cite songs like Nice Touch o Purple eyes, where the work is as precise as a sniper's shot. Without the complexity of most current productions, this album annihilates the listener and immediately envelops them in the most pleasurable of atmospheres., as if it were a summer breeze that was born in the best days of the seventies in California and rejuvenated the south of the continent just a few days ago.
Dreaminder It's a good 42-minute trip that It helps us regain confidence in rock and roll, without sweeteners or preservatives. Therefore, Magaly Fields rightfully occupies a good position among our artistic preferences this year.
