The Expedition It could very well be the title of a movie and Green Past the person in charge of its original soundtrack. This isn't the case, but it could have been. Actually, it is the name of the fifth album by the band that originated in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, They've been working and growing tremendously since 2006. It's difficult to say that this is perhaps their best album to date because it overshadows everything they've been doing for more than fifteen years. I highly recommend delving into this group's discography. But I will say that it's perhaps one of the most interesting works to emerge from this region so far in 2023, and that is absolutely true. An album that can be enjoyed from the first second to the last.

The Expedition It contains eight songs whose greatest virtue is precisely the fact that they are real songs., with incredible arrangements and lyrics that sound simple but denote great depth. In This mess is yours. Exequiel Stocco's voice stands out, something that has become a hallmark of Pasado Verde, but a beautiful string arrangement quickly surprises, making the experience of listening to the album a pure delight. I think each song embodies the identity of this Mendoza band, which has become part of a characteristic sound of the region, of a scene. (we can highlight My Invincible Friend and You Point It Out for Me) But it is also a quest to take what they do to new places.

The connection with nature is very present, and the band takes us on a journey, inviting us to explore the landscape of the album, both sonically and lyrically., where every song has everything it takes to be a hit and in which with each listen you can feel the connection between each of the tracks. The Expedition It came out a couple of weeks ago (February 24th) and believe me, it's been stuck on repeat in my head. Mendoza is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I say this because I've been fortunate enough to visit and explore it. The greatest virtue of Pasado Verde is precisely that of making you feel part of that place, at least while you are listening to their latest album.

String arrangements, synthesizers, wind sections—every moment of the album is exquisite. Himalayas We can clearly connect very deeply with the band and their identity, as they allow themselves to fuse their pop songs with high doses of folklore. Post-Hurricane They bring us to a halt with a wonderful ballad featuring Paz Carrara's vocals, making it one of the album's best tracks. If the album were a physical copy, I'd say that's where side A ends, and flipping it over would be perfect to have...  One hour, So many to explain (my favorite) and, the closing, Volcano, These are some of the most outstanding compositions in his discography.

To promote this launch, Pasado Verde posted the following on their official Instagram account: «"The Expedition is out now. An album we thoroughly enjoyed making, with an amazing team that made it possible, along with two producers and friends (Lucca Beguerie Petrich and Joaquín Guevara from Usted Señalemelo)" that allowed and encouraged us to explore new paths and sounds. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Green Past is Exequiel Stocco, Fabricio Potenzone, Franco Santillán, Joaquín Ferreira Nazar and Leonardo Lemoli. .

Discography: To grow and forget (2007), We were and we will be (2012), Fire and Flora (2016), Statement of Principles (2020) and his recent album, The Expedition (2023).

Nothing is better for me than being able to recommend an album, And on top of that, it's from one of my favorite bands.
