A friend and former collaborator of Zonagirante.com, a regular attendee at small underground band gigs, He said that many times a stage with enough electrical outlets and four lights was enough to enjoy a good band. And yes, in an environment where crowds expect spectacular bursts of fire and screens, and speakers that boom in our ears, We forget about the simple ways of making and presenting music, which is where it all begins and where, sometimes, less is more. And the same happens with the sound of the artists, where some groups decide to complicate their intentions, dreaming of filling stadiums, And there are others who know that their strength will always be the lo-fi style, the resonant intimacy, The soothing caress behind the distorted guitar and the tender melody. That's why we're delighted with the release of their second album. Bermuda, The Dark Forest.

This project, led by Priscila Rauto, originally from the Argentinian city of La Plata (Of course!), whose sound can be labeled like indie dream pop (How music critics love to complicate things!) presents a 10-track album, meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, clean vocals (reverberations are barely noticeable), ambient keyboards and everyday texts:

Old friendships
They also end
To surrender myself to a walk
In the dark
It can't be done
Living on memories
To be like this
Wasting time
Looking at what
It does the rest
Feeling that
Nothing is enough

I say this with admiration, and I reiterate what I stated earlier: What Las Bermudas does is appreciated because it's affordable, because their approach is understated (not to be confused with empty or unnecessary), It is the word and the sound that are appreciated because we understand it immediately, because its beauty is sincere, because of its intimacy. I hope the following sentence is clear: It sounds like the neighborhood, like what we expect to find on the corner, like what our friends say, This, amidst the routine discouragement, gives us signs of coming from a place where we will breathe without haste. Listen, for example, New Year's Eve, a dreamy ballad, and perhaps the best song on the compilation, It can play many times on our stereo and tell us a story each time, without tiring us out., an episode of small loneliness that each of us has had to experience repeatedly. The Dark Forest It is an album that recounts, vocally and instrumentally, the small things that are part of life, nothing grandiose.

Perhaps, as my friend said, to tell our story, sometimes all we need are a few electrical outlets and four lights. so that we can see what's happening.
