A few days ago, the new work of We The Lion called TTT what does it mean «"Timothy Time Traveler"» And with that, I had the opportunity to listen for the first time to one of the most important bands in current Peruvian music.
The duo Alonso Briceño and Paul Schabauer have just released their third album, in which a single concept once again runs through all the songs. Interestingly, this time, The concept is not only about the search for sound and lyrics, but also a complete audiovisual experience., There are some videos that accompany the songs on this new album. I highly recommend listening to it. TTT Whether it's appreciating the artwork the group shared on their social media, that experience makes the concept even stronger. This is an album for dancing (why not?), but also for paying attention to this new stage for the Peruvians, where, in my opinion, this retro-futuristic pop/funk/electronic sound suits them perfectly, perhaps playing at being a kind of Incan Daft Punk. Which looks excellent on them.
They have undoubtedly created a time machine (it's the main theme), traveling through a lot of musical and lyrical references, and where nowadays the language barriers in which they compose no longer exist. The fact that their songs are in English doesn't prevent us from enjoying a very beautiful album, since the message is very clear regardless of the language in which they sing it. I felt part of Timothy's journey, which they are betting heavily on so that, to put it simply, His music travels all over the planet and even more so in times of UFOs throughout the universe.
If I could choose my favorite from the album, that would be it. TTT. A song composed in these times that could well have been part of past decades and yet still sounds like it belongs to the future. Yes, to a future that will surely be very prosperous for We The Lion. Music has as many variations as there are artists in the world. That's why listening to new music is such a wonderful sport.
