A few years ago, perhaps in less tumultuous times than those we live in now, it was said in the music industry that the third album of a group, if it ever reached that point of realization, It was their point of consolidation.. The band had already moved beyond being a novelty, a surprise for the market, and had overcome the pressure to maintain their success that artists face with their second album. A third album meant they had reached that point of seriousness that confirmed their act wasn't just a passing fad, that major tours and immense professional commitments were on the horizon, and that there could be complete confidence that everything would come to fruition. In short, those were different times, not so long ago, but definitely very different from now. But everything said can be applied to the Bogotá-based group. Oh'laville. They present their new production, Black Suns, And they confirm, through their songs, that they still have much to say and much to give to their fans.

Black Suns It's an album that has been released in bits and pieces since last year, with hit songs on the radio and digital platforms that have confirmed the quartet's solid sound., that kind of sensitive, empowered breath of guitar muscle that at precise moments resorts to high and furious distortion. His fans had already been familiar with songs like [song titles] for a few months. Primitives, Black Magic y At sea (theme made in collaboration with Juan Pablo Vega) and with that, a line already known in the group was validated, a style of composition that was discussed and that was acquiring maturity in its development, but, it must be said, It offered nothing particularly new in its work.

True fascination and wonder It actually comes with the recordings that complete the album, The new tracks that hadn't yet been released and that truly dazzle. The last two tracks on the album, Faithful to the fire y Wings to the sun, They are the ones who make the difference. This is where the experimentation comes in, the need to offer the next step, the next puzzle.. Here we notice a bolder use of reverb, a haunting tranquility in the voice, and the confirmation that time has worked in the artist's favor. In these two songs, without in any way diminishing the good work on the rest of the album, lies the magic of the production, the hope that this is where a new path begins for Oh'laville.

Black Suns It's a good album that It confirms the band as one of the best offerings in the often unstable Colombian rock scene. It's a work that, in these fast-paced times where many musicians are burned at the stake after their first and only chance at success, this quartet has secured its place on the podium of permanence and confirmed its intention to have a long career through its excellent music. In short, this is a fine piece of work that we hope will continue for many years to come.
