Few cities on the planet have as many good bands per square kilometer as La Plata. History reminds us that great proposals have come from this Argentinian city. like Virus, Guasones, Patricio Rey y Los Redonditos de Ricota, Estelares, El mató a un policía motorizado, Norma, Peligrosos Gorriones, and many more, so many that listing them could fill this and several more pages, perhaps only succeeding in boring you.
Among what has been seen in the last decade, the following stand out Telephone. This band, which has been releasing material since 2009, is a significant representative of the current La Plata punk scene. Their recently released album Boys-Girls (the fourth in his career), is irrefutable proof of this. This compilation of 13 songs recorded during the Southern Hemisphere summer is a brilliant work where the melodic work is commendable and the instrumental performance is captivating in its explicit simplicity. Each of the included tracks is a genuine blast packed into productions of three minutes or less. Songs like Excuses, Glances y All good They are sonic gems that spread genuine joy and serve as happy little pills to change anyone's mood. To highlight, Boys-Girls is included in their list of guest musicians to special figures such as Mr. Flavio (Fabulosos Cadillacs) and Mario Siperman (Los Encargados).
In short, if you're looking for fast-paced, exuberant tracks, follow our recommendation: Search in La Plata and You will find Thelefon as a great example of the moment.
