If anyone has understood the contemporary possibilities of Colombian folk music, it has been Pablo  Mr. Gaviria. This producer and DJ, who has lived in Switzerland for several years, has always been addicted to experimentation, to seeking new avenues in traditional sounds., to try to reinvent what some believe is already definitively made indestructible. From the time of his former workplace, Mono Estudios, in Bogotá, where people from all regions of his country met and where a good part of the European artists passed through on their exploration of exotic dance rhythms, Gaviria always worked in a laboratory format. Visiting his studio back then meant knowing that something new was brewing., Whether it was because a percussionist from Chocó, a singer from the Caribbean, or a producer of Croatian origin had arrived. Various projects were created in their space, among which the most renowned were Pulenta (an initial mix of tango and rock, which later transformed into Afropunk fusion), and The Transatlantic Liners (a Latin/European vision of electrotropical fusion). Now, living surely amidst the tranquility of the Alps, his musical work has not slowed down.

We recently discussed his project, along with other Colombian artists residing in the old continent, called Banana Sound Cartel. Now we return to Mr. Gaviria and his recent Soundcloud release entitled Edits. This free listening work includes 4 tracks where he goes to the blender and puts it in the same container Psychedelic cumbia, bits of bhangra, hip hop and techno. By cutting and pasting and reimagining daring mixed contexts, he proposes renewed dance vibes that, we are told, are setting the dance floors of underground clubs in Spain, Germany and other surrounding countries on fire. Edits It is the summary of a fun, intelligent and intense artistic endeavor, Suitable for anyone on the planet who simply wants to move their bones without complexes and without prejudices.

In short, Mr. Gaviria is bringing flavor to the old continent.
