New musical genres need to be allowed to evolve; we shouldn't just accept the first thing that comes out under the recently adopted labels. We have to wait for their names to stop being "bad words" in the language of journalists and fans and let them flourish., hoping that, as the concept matures, they will offer more attractive, less closed-off sound variations. This is the moment when we at Zonagirante.com can confess that we took quite a while to accept the use of the term «"Trap". What this style initially proposed seemed boring, rushed, unclear, and at times even annoying. We felt it was a repetition of clichés, silly idioms with stagnant formulas and very vague texts. Current events have made us change our minds and we have found more interesting alternatives., that deserve to be addressed beyond fashion.

This time, through a new live session from Argentina, we present to The American, a musician born in the town of Chacabuco, Buenos Aires province, who recently recorded a performance of five songs in the interior of the Gomín Bicycle Shop, in the Villa Crespo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. This was stated by Il Americano, who has been releasing recordings on various digital platforms for the past couple of years., It is a mix of the aforementioned Trap, along with R&B, soul, indie, rock, hip hop, rap, pop and reggaeton. The set of songs, which barely totals more than fourteen minutes, is entertaining and clearly demonstrates the artist's experimental and open-minded spirit., achieving an attractive sequence of sensations, generating moments of dance, sensuality and delight. The video production is simple and understated, with a clear photographic concept and agile editing that always makes it clear who the protagonist of the presentation is. In short, here we have the opportunity to enjoy a compelling sample of new sound art from the southern part of the continent, and a chance to break down prejudices about the evolution of 21st-century music.
