Dolls – Human League
Let's start with a horror film. Classic movies designed to scare the viewer usually have more chilling music, but this clip proves that The excellent electronic indie music produced by this Argentinian band also serves to create a suitable soundtrack for bloody scenes and human carnage worthy of celebration. The entire massacre (which never loses its elegant details in costume and hairstyle) unfolds in a meticulous edit that keeps the audience's attention alive and gives more power to the song's chorus, which says «"I'm always afraid to sleep/afraid to die"». Anyway, the next time you think of a horror film, remember that pop music can scare you too.
Dani Jatib – Strange
When videos with a simple structure are doubly effective. This clip, shot in a single take with a drone camera, works exquisitely thanks to its clever pre-production, the perfect location, the artist's delicate beauty, and the immediate impact of its melody. Furthermore, the editing adds subtle details that enhance the surprise and emotion, which is appreciated when viewing the final result. It is an audiovisual work that is pleasing because its simplicity is elegant and it enhances the music it presents. Another pleasant new addition to the Chilean indie pop scene, which seems to be an inexhaustible source of talent to stand out.
And to close with some movement and color, with a funky and hip-hop flavor. From Costa Rica, a project we talked about a while back when reviewing their album, and who now bring us this video with an ecological and sporting message. A camera that never stays still and follows skateboards, bicycles, and roller skates., And, incidentally, it showcases the lush green landscape of one of the countries with the best social relationship with nature. It's a fun, fast-paced video that serves many purposes, including promoting talented Central American artists. Overall, a great piece of work.
