Pantrö Puto and the Strange Dreams – Eternal flame
My fellow millennials, there was a time when a band called [band name] was playing on every pop radio station in the world. The Bangles, A female group whose members deeply touched the hearts of their fans. The lead singer, Susanna Hoffs, was considered by many teenagers at the time to be the most beautiful woman on the planet, and to add to her allure, she performed moving, fun, and well-crafted songs like a goddess. Several decades later, knowing that Hoffs has happily reached old age, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Manuel Sánchez Viamonte, guitarist of the La Plata-based band, He killed a motorcycle police officer, He has a side project with which he has decided to create an acoustic version of Eternal Flame, perhaps one of the most popular tunes from that American band that we miss so much. The result is a tasteful recording, worthy of being listened to and sung on any road trip taken anywhere in the world., Accumulating, as the notes pass, all the nostalgia that the composition itself evokes. The video? We could describe it as tragicomic, with hilarious moments and others of curious drama, but it's all justified, especially when it comes to promoting a good version of an unforgettable production.
The Tenacious – Take out of me
Those of us who know Tana Vallejo, the driving force behind the Colombian musical project LaTenaz, know that she's drawn to extreme stories, those that narrate uprooting, dramas, emotional conflicts, and alcohol-fueled misfortunes. We know that she, a composer and singer of her own songs, likes to occasionally add moments of blood, pain, and terror to her audiovisual creations (which she edits and directs herself). Now, perhaps due to the accumulation of events of the time, or because her penchant for tragedy has grown exponentially, she presents us with her most striking work yet., The direct account of a desire for love and passionate crime, where the gesture that remains is a malicious smile that adores the wound caused. Perhaps LaTenaz, with this recording, has found its own signature sound, a balanced combination of gritty streetwise humor, sensationalist crime reporting, and a killer instinct, which lingers in its melodies and hopefully won't end up on the front pages of tabloids. While it scares us for a while, we tell it, seriously, that we love it.
Dan Stump – Tropical Sky
Finally, a good example of new Brazilian music, more specifically from the north of the country, from the Amazon. Dan Stump, an artist with a look similar to that always used to represent Vincent Van Gogh, He takes advantage of the stunning landscapes of his region to explode our screens with color, adding to it an accomplished choreography on the water and thus speak to us of love and distances. It's a pleasant song that incorporates elements of local rhythms, occasional distorted guitars, and a melody that sticks in your mind. Visually, the most striking aspect is the beautiful cinematography, which admirably captures the beauty of the surroundings and makes them an integral part of the story.
