Until a little over two years ago, Juan Olmedillo was only known within the Venezuelan rock and roll scene, for his popular group The Mints. But then, suddenly, in collaboration with Claudia Lizardo, he presented a project with a very different sound. A duo called The Little Revenge.
In September 2013 they released their album False brothers, a compilation of songs full of folk elements and some nostalgic rock moments. Music critics welcomed this work, praising the intensity of Lizardo's voice and Olmedillo's guitar arrangements., filled with an unexpected emotional charge.
Now, after all this time, La Pequeña Revancha returns, and announces their next album, called Syncopated steps, with the release of their first single, I was the sol. This theme, which they themselves describe as "a praise of all those who yearn for past glories," takes greater sonic risks and It looks perfect for soundtracks of long journeys, Without interruptions, moments of reflection and nostalgia, moments of intimacy in motion. The vocal arrangements are profound and captivating, and the delicate sound of the strings adds magic to the final result. Truly, it's a good preview of a highly anticipated album., which clears up any doubts about this duo from Caracas.
