It's always healthy for a critic when a band comes along and silences their prejudices with good music. I must confess that lately, with a few notable exceptions, I've been wary of the new Mexican rock scene. Much of what reaches us in other corners of Latin America seems like a repetition of the same old thing, and that's why we act with prejudice when it comes with the tricolor seal. It's silly, I know, and if anyone is offended, I apologize in advance. But you know what I'm talking about. Perhaps the powerful corporate machine behind the music scene in that country is responsible for that petty label., But perhaps this excess of Zoe copies and substitutes that they try to sell us ends up overwhelming and boring us.. That's why we appreciate those special moments when, amidst that stagnation, refreshing proposals like these reach us. Chelydra.
This trio, whose first album, Oval Portrait, was published a few months ago, he is currently promoting his third single called Radiance. This track is an interesting balance of sadness and unbridled force that rebels against nostalgia with just the right amount of noise and a well-crafted melody that completes the allure. This band, which has performed at venues such as London's Tramlines Festival and toured Germany, Austria, and Great Britain, has managed to achieve its own unique and interesting sound, which leaves us speechless and without arguments to easily refute them. A good recording to silence prevention.
