By José Gandue @Gandour

We said it when he released his previous album, OrangeToto González, born in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela and known in the music scene as Mr. Pauer, He is one of the most interesting artists in the Latin music scene in the United States and has worked to shape and characterize the Miami sound., contributing to a more interesting scene in this city, due to their seriousness and their commitment to getting people dancing with intelligent music, avoiding the obvious.

In his previous work, he played with the combination of different Latin American rhythms with musicians from all over the continent. Now he's holed up at home looking for a new recipe for Caribbean sonic exercise. It takes experimentation to extremes where the original rhythm is confused with industrial-style textures. And yet he still gets people dancing. Watermelon (yes, that's the name of this EP) is a work of three recordings where cumbia is fed by unexpected beats, where folklore reveals its robotic face And where it seems that Pauer builds the soundtrack of Star Wars in a local and tasty version.

Pauer makes a commendable effort to stand out and embrace his role as a producer who frequents the most glamorous clubs in the United States, taking musical risks., reinventing folklore in their own way so that even the most unsophisticated Anglo-Saxon can understand it. Theirs is a courageous effort, and perhaps many will not understand it, but we are convinced that we are facing a good piece of work that will attract the attention of those who seek something more than predictable successes.

Good news: These recordings are available for free download. Dear reader, take advantage, you won't regret it.
