A new year begins, and we start it in quarantine. We see deserted streets, except for the controlled passage of motorcycle police, those who think they own this lonely empire. It's not surprising to be in this situation, after seeing all the excesses of the people, the government's irresponsibility, and the flat-earthism of the ignorant during Christmastime. But 2021 is supposed to be, at some point, a great year; we've promised ourselves that for the past 365 days. We're supposed to get vaccinated soon, and then we'll be able to go out more freely, and maybe we can kiss our loved ones, hug whoever is willing to come near us, and maybe real concerts will return without restrictions. The most optimistic say the worst is over, but is it? Even so, amidst the confinement and the renewed battle against anxiety, depression, and boredom, we will find moments of joy with the continent's new music. That's why we're back to our weekly routine of finding the best Latin American releases on digital platforms.

For the first time in 2021, Despite the difficulties, we renew our need to laugh., and we present twenty brand-new songs made in Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Panama, Uruguay, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile and Mexico,  whose sound is related to labels such as  Pop, Fusion, Trap, Folk, Folklore, Hip Hop, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we've added the new single from Cienfue,  the latest production of Bus, the new publication of Rawayana and the most recent recording of Asylum 38.

We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist for January 8, 2021.
