Flight Log 4567. This is your captain speaking for the last time this month, the first of the year. We're still flying, as you'll notice if you look out your window, but our course is uncertain. January has been a strange month. Some of our passengers thought things would change as soon as the year began, as if by magic, but no. Just a few hours of optimism and celebration, and then we were back to square one. Even the lieutenants of power are falling in the midst of the pandemic, including those who just days before felt immortal. Today they declared days of mourning in his memory, even though most people were unaware of them or simply detested them. We want to laugh for a while, despite how ridiculous the situation is, and suddenly everything becomes meme fodder for comedy, including the linguistic blunders, the absurdities of the representatives, and the clumsiness of those who should have been firm in finding a solution. We have no choice but to continue the playful exercise of ignoring what is happening and believing that we are on a plane parallel to reality.
