We miss going out at night. We miss ordering a ride and having it confirmed when it arrives. We also miss the casual conversation we have with the driver, asking about the traffic, the route suggested by the app, or whether it will rain. We miss the unique sounds of the streets at that hour, the stillness of the asphalt after all the daytime traffic, and the constant rush of people crossing from one sidewalk to the other. We miss the first shouts of celebration that start on some street corners when the first friends meet at the lucky hour. We miss getting out of the car and crossing the street, looking around to reach the agreed-upon place. We miss the knowing glance from the person who greets us at the door and tells us, without much enthusiasm, that we're welcome. We miss raising our hand at the bar, waiting to be served. We miss the first beer, which is almost always the coldest of the day. We miss the hand on the shoulder and the meeting with the person we were waiting for. We miss the kiss and the hug and everything that happens from that moment on. We will soon return to those abandoned dark hours that we miss so much.
