Two years ago today, we were living peacefully, barely reading news reports about a virus that had its first outbreak in China, and so it felt very distant from our own reality. Two years ago, we had no idea what was coming and how everyone, to a greater or lesser degree, would see their lives change radically. Series and films about pandemics were, for most viewers, idiotic things to watch without much concern on a Sunday afternoon., And the issue of those who did not want to vaccinate their children for conspiracy-theory reasons barely registered a needle movement in some media outlets. The face mask (mask, face covering, whatever you want to call it) only appeared in news reports in some scenes of the Tokyo subway. People hugged, shook hands as a sign of trust, and gave welcoming kisses to their loved ones. Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and other prominent entrepreneurs were, at that time, just billionaires. That's all. It was February 2020. We were happy, or at least a little less miserable in that moment, and we didn't even realize it.

For the seventh time in 2022, we're releasing a new weekly chart of new songs made in Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Brazil and Mexico, labeled as Pop, Fusion, Folk, Hip Hop, Folklore, Electronic, Reggae and Rock. Among others, we added the new single from Julieta Venegas, the latest production of Cuarteto de Nos, the new publication of Still and the most recent recording of Autoramas.
We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist for February 18, 2021.
