April was supposed to be one of the most poetic months of the year. By now, we were supposed to be out enjoying the rain and the indecisiveness of spring or the ripeness of autumn. We were supposed to be surrounded by music lovers jumping at some festival across the continent. We were supposed to be finding new loves on some street corner, without any kind of face covering or mask protecting us. But now we're stuck inside, glancing out the window now and then to see if we can at least catch a glimpse of someone walking their dog or rushing with their groceries before the police ask them what they're doing outside. Now the noise is inside. The noise protects us from despair, from boredom, from hopelessness. Luckily, we have music. We have excuses to celebrate. For the thirteenth time in 2020, we remain in lockdown, ready to hear the twenty new tunes coming from Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Uruguay., Argentina, Chile and Mexico, whose sounds include Pop, Hip Hop, Folk, Blues, Electronic, Fusion and Rock. Among others, we added the new single from Prehistoric, the latest production of Lido Pimienta, the new publication of Girl and the most recent recording of Centeno Island.
We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist from April 3, 2020.
