We were stuck in the boredom of these days. The office was filled with an undue spiritual nostalgia, perhaps a product of many childhood frustrations related to these dates and all the depressing movies that were shown during all the commemorative days. Perhaps the idea back then was to make us suffer in the same way as the hero of those times. Boredom led us to search on Spotify for contemporary songs dedicated to these festivities. Something that had no reference whatsoever to any religious expression, nor to sinful repentance or anything like that. We entered the words «"Good Friday"» And, obviously, most of what we found was Gregorian chants, obscure moments from opera two or three centuries ago, and unbearable poems that seemed to be recited to the rhythm of a whip cracking on the back. But luckily, we stumbled upon a gem, made by a rock and roll band from the town of Brandsen, in the province of Buenos Aires. They are called Orko Hats, And, according to their biography, they have shared the stage with renowned groups such as Young Beggars, Primitive Signs and others like it. It seems easy to find them playing in venues in their city such as Mamita Bar and Juleo and Romieta. His song lifted our spirits so much (yes, Good Friday is called), We listen to it many times, we dance to it on top of our desks, and we escape from yawning and laziness. It definitely deserves that we share the lyrics with you, inviting you to karaoke by clicking on the link we've left, and hoping you have the rest you deserve, being happy for a little while, without assuming unnecessary guilt):
It's been a while since I've dedicated any time to it.
to have a good time without thinking about the clock.
To feel lighter, to feel my body rise.
freeing thought from all good and bad.
However, I find it necessary
to slow down a few gears and remember who I am.
Go to the neighborhood to meet up with the guys
to wake up drunk, smashing the stages.
Chorus…
There's a smell of salt, a little wine, and good wood.
people from my group who don't wear any masks.
There's a smell of salt, a barbecue, and lots of beer.
a crazy trick and the cards on the table.
In the middle of the week, it's a prison.
Routine wears you down and takes away the best parts of you.
It's no longer enough to just organize a trip
call the first person who walks by and hang up the suit forever.
The tide surrounds you and crashes against you.
It throws you against the rocks and you're just one of the crowd.
Those who are part of the group are gradually leaving.
by plane, train or boat, looking to cross the pond.
I don't miss it, even though I know the calendar
It only gives us a few francs and a lot of work.
I relax every Friday, they're holy.
I get together with the guys and we get out of it somehow.
Going to bed when the sun is beating us down
And when it reaches the top, we pierce the mattress.
We might wake up to football or a surprise
Let's celebrate with a barbecue because Saturday smells like a promise.
