Surely these days, in the midst of lockdown—if you've actually been respecting it—you're already refusing to watch the news, because you no longer know what to make of the sheer embarrassment caused by most of our leaders, nor the overwhelming statistics of despair that some broadcasters transmit with a steely smile to their audience, and even less so the lighthearted commentary on the hypocritical solidarity that celebrities show toward the rest of humanity. Surely you, like us, are utterly appalled by the number of rising stars who have released songs about Covid-19, embracing the opportunism of the moment and perpetuating the same old nonsense. It's clear that you, no matter where you are, see the president of the United States and don't know whether to laugh or cry at his ineptitude and the consequences of his actions on the rest of humanity. Therefore, and as we do every week, despite the circumstances, we want to remind you, with a barrage of new music from across the continent, that we care about you, that you have a moment of refuge and entertainment with us. For the eighteenth time in 2020, we all come together thanks to these twenty new songs coming from Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Chile and Mexico, which sound like Pop, Hip Hop, Folk, Reggae, Electronic, Fusion and Rock. Among others, we added the new single from Fidel Nadal, the latest production of Sweet Grapefruit, the new publication of Mundaka and the most recent recording of Tappan.
We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist from May 8, 2020.
