May begins, and by an almost lost magic that the calendar bestows upon us, we remember in the fifth month of the year that poetry exists, and that, instead of despising it, it is useful to remember it., especially if it is composed of unforgettable lines that leave a mark on the reader and honor the one who joined the words in this way. To begin these days and believe that humanity still has glimpses of glory and honor, We remember an old poem by the Spanish author Miguel Hernández Made in 1931

Little ballad of May

Finally, May brought green.
bindweed and basil
at the entrance to the village
and to the threshold of the windows.
Seeing him coming, they started
love ribbons, guitars,
jealousy of love the pegs,
the ropes, ties of rage,
and they neigh impatiently
for going out to serenade.
In the temperate stables
where love smells like straw,
honest manure and milk,
There's a loud noise of cows
who fall in love alone
They ruminate and bellow alone.
The bulls of the pastures
They hear them from inside the water
and they angrily sink into the sand
their beloved antlers.
The clear deer move
its tree-like antlers
just like a bouquet of rays
and a vision of knives.
The goat sheds its coat,
The wool sheep changes,
The wolf changes color
and the grass from roots.
The intentions are different.
and they are other words
on the forehead and on the tongue
of early youth.
The jealous goats lose
between his teeth, his beard:
They surrender with headbutts,
They ram and mistreat each other,
and in the midst of the cattle
They move, just like swords
furious and eager,
loving tongues and paws.
The donkeys go along sighing
strongly by the donkeys.
With moon and birds, the nights
They are pure clear glass;
the afternoons, pure green,
pure blue, emeralds;
pure silver, the dawns
They look completely white.
And the mornings are honey
of pure and pure golden.
May is in full bloom;
that love roams sheepfolds,
rounds stables and shepherds,
round doors, round beds,
rounds of young women at the dance
and skirts swirl in the air…
