May is ending. As we've already mentioned, it's often seen as an inspiring month, where, due to the spirit of the season, special things happen regardless of which hemisphere you're in. It's certainly worth remembering the Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo and their courageous forty-three-year struggle (each of them deserves the Nobel Prize and, especially, the recognition of all humanity). Nor is it out of place to recall that poem by Arthur Rimbaud, called May Flags, which says
«"As our blood laughs in our veins,
Behold, the vines intertwine
The sky is beautiful like an angel.
Azure and shadow commune.
I'm going out. If lightning strikes me
I will succumb upon the moss.
In short, May is full of beauty, and let's hope we enjoy it to the fullest in these last days of its life, as the middle of the year quickly arrives. Likewise, the music continues to resonate and continues to give us something to talk about. This week the whirlwind of Latin American releases continues, and as always, we're showcasing twenty songs recently added to digital platforms. These recordings, made in Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Mexico, feature pop, blues, fusion, electronic, hip hop, folk, and rock sounds. Among others, we add the new single from Mateo Kingman, the latest production of LosPetitFellas, the new publication of Household Appliances and the most recent recording of Rococo Pantheon.
We repeat our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist from May 27, 2019.
