Every day, as innocent people fall, hymns are sung in their honor, so that we do not forget them. Every day there is a front line that warns us that injustice has not stopped. There are always torn flags along the route warning that the battle does not cease. We constantly think we've hit rock bottom, but the truth is we can fall even deeper; we still don't know where the bottom is. There's always that heart-wrenching scream in every viral video we see about what's happening in the streets. Every day there are more people blinded by police violence, and others who suddenly vanish without a trace. Every time we wake up, we wish that everything has changed, we pray that what we saw the day before was a lie. We are living through some of the worst times of our lives, and, since suffering is a shared experience, it's difficult to complain, to lament our own misfortune, because everyone else is experiencing it. We need to heal our hearts, we need to stop the violence; it's time for genuine dialogue. If that doesn't happen, we will hear more and more hymns of lament every day.
For the twentieth time in 2021, We turn to music to feel alive and raise our voices, adding twenty new songs made in our playlist Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile and Mexico, whose sound is related to labels such as Pop, Fusion, Folk, Hip Hop, Folklore, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we've added the new single from Three Crowns, the latest production of Mariana Michi, the new publication of Sweet and Sour and the most recent recording of Pepe Mogt.
We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist for May 21, 2021.
