Several decades ago, those young people who were discovering poetry and, at the same time, inspiring texts for a continental revolution that never fully materialized, They had as a reference, as a bedside book, a compilation called Inventory, Made by the Uruguayan Mario Benedetti.. They carried it in their handmade backpacks, traveling through classrooms, schoolyards, and bar gatherings, fueled by lukewarm beer, the smell of patchouli, local imitations of Indian and Arab clothing, and low-quality herbs., where those who smoked showed more signs of intoxication than euphoria. Benedetti, in his pages full of easy-to-learn poems and ingenious words that confused more than one innocent soul, was the dialectical solution to achieve the perfect combo to attract the attention of rebellious university students. and conveniently disguise themselves as followers of Che Guevara, Fidel, and others of that ideological sphere. Did applying this plan actually improve their chances of success in the industry? No doubt more than one person tried it. And more than one person memorized these lines by heart:

Tactics and strategy
My tactic is
looking at you
learn how you are
to love you as you are

My tactic is
talk to you
and listen to you
build with words
an indestructible bridge

My tactic is
to stay in your memory
I don't know how or how
under what pretext
but to stay with you

My tactic is
to be frank
and to know that you're frank
and that we don't sell out
drills
so that between the two
there is no curtain
nor abysses

My strategy is
instead
deeper and more
simple

My strategy is
that on any given day
I don't know how or how
under what pretext
You finally need me.

Our question, at this point in the week, is the current sentimental, political, and professional situation of each revolutionary of that era. More than one person must have gotten lost in the violence and madness of the season. Others disappeared off the map, either on their own or with the undue help of institutions. Still others soon switched sides, and when they realized that the rebel aesthetic wasn't going to help them survive, They accepted, first with resignation and then with the pleasure of browsing the catalogs of major brands, its incorporation into the system. Anyway, more than one person must have those kinds of impressions stored away in the back of their house and must hide behind the door of their hiding place, reviewing them, with their fist in the air, and with a more elegant liquor for the time, which perhaps was also happy in those days.
