As you may have noticed, We have used this space for presenting our weekly lists during the month of June to publish poems by authors from around the world that invite us to reflect.. Perhaps this small collection of verses has served us (at least) to escape for a few minutes from the obvious debate of these days. It's not about portraying ourselves as patient beings in the face of the widespread explosion of hatred, unease, despair, and uncertainty that much of the world is experiencing; rather, we present ourselves as simply clueless individuals who believe there are other paths, other words to guide new struggles, new aspirations. Publishing poetry in a predominantly musical medium is not an act of sentimentality; on the contrary. It is an action that aims, hopefully with some success, to inspire hope without losing sight of the disaster that surrounds us. It is to proclaim that every effort to raise banners that lead to better paths deserves attention. Just as in every song, so it is with every text that inspires us. June has allowed us to return to poetry, and we feel good about it. For that reason, we close this month with Jorge Luis Borges and his Music box:

Music from Japan. Greedily
Drops fall from the hourglass
of slow honey or invisible gold
that repeat a plot over time
eternal and fragile, mysterious and clear.
I fear that each one will be the last.
They are a yesterday that returns. From which temple,
from what gentle garden on the mountain,
What are you keeping vigil over before a sea I don't know?,
What shame of melancholy,
From what lost and rescued late,
Do their distant future reach me?
I won't know. It doesn't matter. In that music
I am. I want to be. I bleed out.

For the twenty-fifth time in 2021, We foresee better days by blasting our speakersAnd, as we do every week, we present a renewed playlist of contemporary Latin American music, built from the sum of 20 new tracks made in Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Uruguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Chile and Mexico,  whose sound is related to labels such as  Pop, Fusion, Folk, Hip Hop, Folklore, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we've added the new single from Apache,  the latest production of Vanessa Zamora, the new publication of  Wos and the most recent recording of Lucille Dupin.

We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist for June 25, 2021.

If any of our followers would like to showcase their illustration work and collaborate with Zonagirante.com, please contact us and send your portfolio to zonagirante@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance.
