In the part of town where our Zonagirante.com newsroom is located, there's a brief respite from the quarantine. The lockdown will return soon, but for now, we constantly see passersby wearing masks, hurrying off to who knows where. From our office balcony, we peek out whenever a street vendor is offering their wares. We've seen everything from avocados for a thousand pesos, ready to be eaten at lunch, to eucalyptus essences to soothe respiratory ailments. What has surprised us is the wave of musical groups that go around with a small amplifier playing from corner to corner, Waiting to receive coins from those who stop to listen. The truth is that the resulting sound, in most cases, isn't the most pleasant, and some, rather than satisfying, offer torture, but it's a matter of minutes, just a couple of performances and they're gone. Then comes the heavy rain of these days and the street is barely audible except for the sound of the millions of raindrops falling.
For the twenty-ninth time in 2020, we await the new normal by presenting twenty new songs from Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile and Mexico, and whose sound is related to labels such as Pop, Fusion, Folk, Reggae, Hip Hop, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we added the new single from Hello Seahorse, the latest production of Mountaineer, the new publication of Great movies and the most recent recording of Boom Boom Kid.
We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist for July 24, 2020.
