In some parts of the hemisphere, August is the month of wind. A while back, the streets of some of our major cities were filled with vendors selling the most colorful kites (called "barriletes" or "papalotes" in other countries), and the challenge was, on a weekend trip to the countryside with the family, to try and fly these birds of fabric, paper, or plastic as high as possible, so they would become part of the aerial landscape. We all thought we were competing with airplanes or even with the birds themselves. It was simple and inexpensive fun, without much fuss, and, yes, accompanied by a shout of excitement, we could barely stabilize our toy in the sky. That was music too. There, believe it or not, our taste for good music was solidified. For that reason, among many others, we enjoy sharing the latest in contemporary Latin American music with you every week. We're thrilled, as always, to launch a new playlist featuring twenty incredible recordings from across the continent. Two dozen brilliantly crafted tracks to listen to again and again, and dance to with the wind at your back. Here's a compilation of songs from Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Cuba, Chile, Puerto Rico, and Mexico (and let's add Norway), encompassing Pop, Hip Hop, Trap, Fusion, Folk, Electronic, and Rock. Among others, we add the new single from Bengal the latest production of iLe, the new publication of Vanthra and the most recent recording of Da Pawn.
