We imagine that the first to tear their hair out in despair during quarantine were the devotees of religions and cults that seek new followers throughout their neighborhoods. Just a few days ago, while we were in an important meeting of the Zonagirante.com editorial committee, in a heated discussion about a topic we've already forgotten, The doorbell rang. The first time, we all asked if we were expecting someone, and no one nodded. There was a second ring, and we thought the postman had arrived—if such a profession still exists these days. At the third warning, we looked out onto the balcony and saw a trio of elderly women, perhaps the only people capable of smiling at the disappointments they must cause every time they identify themselves upon arriving at any house. They looked up and almost in unison, upon seeing us, warned that they carried the truth of God in their hands and in the Bibles they had for sale. «"No ladies, thank you very much,", That was the answer. «"Are you seriously going to refuse to receive the word of the Lord?" "Yes, ladies, 2020 has only brought us uncertainty, disappointment, and too many contradictions to believe that all this was devised by a superior being, unless this God you speak of was too cruel and excessively creative in his plans to enjoy what is happening.". As the window closed, the most fastidious member of the committee asked «"Wouldn't it have been much less cruel, and perhaps more fun, to answer that we only believed in Chuck Norris and his brute strength?"». Anyway, we're still working.

For the thirty-sixth time in 2020, we await the arrival of nonexistent deities while listening to twenty new tunes made in Colombia, Argentina, Cuba, Peru, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile and Mexico, whose sound is related to labels such as Pop, Fusion, Folk, Hip Hop, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we added the new single from LaTorre, the latest production of Mitu, the new publication of Alfonso André and the most recent recording of The White Lady.

We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist from September 11, 2020.
