As our regular readers will have noticed, We have rarely been interested in talking about the Latin Grammys. Everyone can give awards to whomever they want, but we must confess that we find much of the music discussed at these awards boring in each edition. It's not about trying to be the weirdest, but The truth is, we find it more appealing to see independent artists, whom we'll never see walking the red carpets of these events.. We have no problem with most of the prominent musicians at these kinds of celebrations, and we're happy when, from time to time, they honor our friends, those who are invited and celebrated at these gatherings. However, we don't feel that the songs we'd like to hear throughout the continent are the ones played at these events. We are not at all against musicians being massively recognized by the audience, coming out of the most underground spaces. We insist, not at all. We would be thrilled if one day these artists like Zapata the Fox, Rubio, Niña Dioz, Norma, Maiguai, And thousands more that echo on Zonagirante.com would be on the lips of millions and millions of fans, singing the tunes they sing now. But that, for the moment, isn't happening. So we're not getting involved in the hot dog or Michelin star debate that's been brewing around this time. That said, Our total respect for the maestro Rubén Blades, whom we have loved for a long time.

For the thirty-ninth time in 2021, we're adding music to the spirit of love and reconciliation among us all, and for that reason we're launching the new weekly list with 20 recently produced tunes made in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Panama, Venezuela, Chile and Mexico, labeled as Pop, Fusion, Folk, Hip Hop, Folklore, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we've added the new single from The Tenacious, the latest production of Santiago Motorizado, the new publication of Javiera Mena and the most recent recording of Damned Neighborhood and the Children of the Fifth Courtyard.
We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist for October 1, 2021.
