In another of the famous Zonagirante.com editorial meetings, we stayed up all night chatting with a friend who denies being a master in the field, but knows quite a bit about the music world.  He likes to ramble, accurately, about what is happening in the artistic environment and where he thinks the new sound movements are headed. What we once called speculation soon became confirmed facts. But what amazes us most about each of his talks is how he approaches the business side of things while still infusing his narrative with poetry. When we asked him what it would take these days for a project to succeed, he laughed for a while and then said «"At least I know what not to do, and that is simply to repeat what others are already doing.". In his explanation, while opening the balcony window and exhaling the smoke from his cigarette, He said that this was, never more than now, the time of the brave. «"All the so-called experts out there suggest the easiest thing, both for themselves and for the market, which is to copy, adapt to what already exists and not try to reinvent the wheel, which has been there for a long time and works.". The worst thing a starving artist can do these days, he continued, is to believe the experts, those who appear time and again at every conference where they receive great praise, repeating their antiquated discourse on a loop., because they themselves, by repeating their falsehoods so often, have ended up convinced of their truth. There, at that moment, he took a deep breath and told us that the daring come into the world to break molds, under penalty of failing, if risk can be called failure. «"At least in the end, if we manage to create an anthem that everyone will remember, we'll know that what we've done will serve as a stab in the back against mediocrity."». Then, for a while, there was silence.

For the fortieth time in 2020, we embraced risk and present you with twenty new tunes made in Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Chile and Mexico, whose sound is related to labels such as Pop, Fusion, Folk, Hip Hop, Electronic and Rock. Among others, we added the new single from Divided, the latest production of Lucybell, the new publication of Palm potato and the most recent recording of Mengers.

We repeat once again our favorite phrase for these kinds of occasions: Find your headphones, step away from the world and listen. This is the Zonagirante.com playlist from October 9, 2020.
