Around the corner from the Zonagirante.com office, a gentleman, with a few too many drinks in his throat, often sits down in the afternoons., always dressing as if winter were permanently strolling through the streets of this city. He is not a dirty man, nor does his presence feel miserable or needy; rather, he is someone who falls into his own particular decadence in the evening hours, and, without bothering anyone, not even the most Catholic ladies of the neighborhood, He sits and looks at everyone, waits for a bit of silence in the traffic, and starts to sing. Her voice sounds raspy, gritty, and rough. But she never sounds out of tune. Her forte is sad songs, the ones that tell true stories, the ones that in a single turn transform into strings that entangle the heart. This afternoon, almost at the edge of the rain, Our friend, perhaps having selected a small bottle of Kentucky bourbon as an accompaniment for the occasion, not without first coughing as if cleaning his mouth, It reminded me of Waits.

No prayers for November
To linger longer
Stick your spoon in the wall
We'll slaughter them all

November has tied me
To an old dead tree
Get word to April
To rescue me
November's cold chain

Made of wet boots and rain
And shiny black ravens
On chimney smoke lanes
November seems odd
You're my firing squad
November

The man finished singing, capped the bottle, and stood up as if nothing had happened. He didn't wait for the applause that erupted from the balconies; that had never interested him. Perhaps his mission that afternoon was to make it clear that, being the most forgotten month of the year, November has inspired some of the best ballads that humanity has ever created. God, if you exist, bless that man well.
